Coastal Canoe Course
Coastal Canoe Course
Exploring the estuaries and coastline of North Wales.
This is a course for those who have experience on open water and have interest in learning how to undertake safe journeys on tidal waters in a canoe.
From the swirling currents of the Menai Strait to the serene, sandy reaches of the Mawddach Estuary, this region offers some of the most spectacular tidal canoeing in the UK.
If you’ve spent your time on lakes and open water and feel the "salt" calling, this course is your bridge to the ocean.
What You’ll Learn
This isn't just a guided tour, it’s a course designed to give you the confidence to plan your own coastal adventures. We focus on:
Tidal Planning: Understanding the "Rule of Thirds" and the “Rule of Twelfths” and how to read tide tables without getting a headache.
Forecast Interpretation: Learning to tell the difference between a "breeze" and a "no-go" day.
Safety & Strategy: How to plan a route that works with the environment, not against it.
Open Water Handling: Refining your technical strokes to manage moving tidal water.
